An opening date has been set for the new North Liberty City Hall.
According to a city of North Liberty news release issued late Friday afternoon, a public open house and ribbon cutting is planned for Tuesday, May 14, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. before the first City Council meeting in the new chambers.
The new City Hall…located at 360 North Main Street…includes indoor and outdoor community spaces. City Hall will close at its current 3 Quail Creek Circle location at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, April 23, and open for business at the new Main Street location at 7 a.m. on Thursday, April 25.
The new City Hall follows the recent remodeling of the nearby fire station and the 2020 opening of the new police station to complete the Civic Campus.
The new facility, which sits between Reds Alehouse and the Police Department amid Dubuque, Cherry and Main streets, will house the city’s administrative offices, city council chambers, flexible indoor community space and a public plaza for events, gatherings and other community-building.
City officials say the new offices will increase staff efficiency by consolidating city services into one location.
