Iowa City Police say a Wisconsin man shattered the front window of a downtown bar early Friday morning.

According to arrest records, officers took a report just after 12:30 a.m. of a man with a knife who had shattered a window at The Sports Column on South Dubuque Street before fleeing the scene. Officers found the suspect, identified as 41-year-old Nick Krahn of Kenosha, a short time later outside Studio 13 on South Linn Street. He reportedly showed multiple signs of intoxication, admitted to drinking, and was wearing bar wristbands. Police say no knife was found on his person. Krahn allegedly refused breath testing.

The Sports Column is seeking compensation for the almost $1,000 in estimated damages. Krahn was arrested and charged with 3rd Degree Criminal Mischief and Public Intoxication. If convicted on both charges, he faces a maximum of 25 months in jail.
