A convicted sex offender was arrested over the weekend after allegedly providing false information to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office.
36-year-old Pierre Jordan is required to register with the Iowa Sex Offender Registry due to a conviction in Johnson County on a charge of Lascivious Acts with a Child in September 2009.
On February 5th, he reportedly appeared at the Sheriff’s Office and reported his address as being on the 400 block of South Van Buren Street in Iowa City as of February 2nd.
A parole officer visited the residence address Jordan provided the next day and was met by the current tenants, who alleged that they had been living at the address for a year and had never heard of him.
A warrant was issued for Jordan’s arrest on February 8th, and he was arrested Sunday. He is charged with providing false information as a sex offender, an aggravated misdemeanor punishable by a jail sentence of up to two years if convicted.
