A North Liberty man was charged with his second OWI after an alleged incident at an Iowa City bar.

Police say 28-year-old Riley Dixon of Bradley Place was called in Thursday afternoon as an intoxicated driver from the Jobsite Bar on Maiden Lane. The caller alleged that Dixon backed his truck into the patio area of the bar before parking in a different spot.

Officers located Dixon inside the bar, and he reportedly was visibly intoxicated with bloodshot watery eyes, substantially impaired speech, unsteady balance, and the odor of ingested alcohol. Dixon allegedly denied drinking despite showing all signs of being intoxicated. He refused to complete field tests and was arrested. The keys to his truck were reportedly located on his person post-arrest. A Datamaster test showed Dixon’s BAC at .276, over three times the legal limit to drive.

He could be sentenced to up to 25 months in jail if convicted on OWI and Public Intoxication charges.
