Clear Creek Amana wins Class 4A girls basketball championship

The top-ranked Clear Creek Amana girls basketball team had no problem dispatching second-ranked Waverly-Shell Rock, 43-25 Saturday afternoon in the Class 4A championship game, which you heard on The Mighty 1630 KCJJ. Both teams were undefeated on the season entering the day.
Ava Locklear had 11 points and 19 rebounds…tying the single-game Class 4A state tournament rebounding record. Averie Lower had a game-high 17 points, with Bliss Beck adding 11 points, eight rebounds and six blocked shots.
We’ll have boys state tournament action Monday night at 5:30 on KCJJ, as Regina faces top-ranked Western Christian in a Class 2A quarterfinal. You can hear that game on The Mighty 1630 KCJJ.
