A transient is accused of stealing hundreds of dollars in clothes from an Iowa City laundromat.

The alleged victim reports leaving her clothes in a dryer at Clean Laundry on Highway 1 West earlier this month. She came back to retrieve the items the next day and noticed they were gone. Security video reportedly shows 34-year-old Dustin Wimer and a co-defendant enter Clean Laundry at about 3:00 on Valentine’s Day morning, load the woman’s clothes into a cart and leave the business with the clothes and the cart. The clothes were valued at $800; the cart cost $250.

Wimer is charged with 3rd Degree Theft. If convicted, he faces a maximum of two years in jail.
