Iowa City firefighters responded to a car fire inside the Johnson County Health and Human Services parking ramp Thursday morning.
The first call came in just before 11:30 a.m. The type of call was changed from a car fire to a structure fire a short time later, although there is no initial indication of serious damage to the ramp.
Photos of the car sent to KCJJ indicate it is likely a total loss. One Johnson County employee tells KCJJ he believes the car had just been purchased, and the owner was registering it with the county treasurer’s office.
