Iowa City Police investigating attempted abduction

Iowa City Police are investigating an attempted abduction.

According to a release from the Department, the incident occurred at around 10:25pm, although the date was not specified. Police were called to a residence near Oakland Cemetery for a report of an attempted abduction that had just occurred.

The victim, a 12-year-old child, reported the suspect was wearing a black leather coat, black gloves and a hooded sweatshirt. The suspect approached on foot. No other suspect description is available at this time.
