Qualifying Johnson County homeowners at or below 80% of area median income are encouraged to apply for grants of up to $15,000 towards specific home projects such as furnace, roofing, siding, window replacement and electrical or plumbing upgrades.

The program is one of the owner-occupied rehabilitation programs offered through the East Central Iowa Council of Governments’ 6-county region by each housing trust fund for low-to-moderate income homeowners living in the home as their primary residence.

Preference may be given to lowest income households or those with a senior, persons with a disability or someone recovering from abuse.

Interested candidates can download and print an application from ECICOG’s website (https://www.ecicog.org/housing), or call the East Central Iowa Council of Governments at (319) 289-0061 to request one.
