A Johnson County man has been arrested in Florida after allegedly threatening and resisting police.

The Key West Police Department says 43-year-old Jesse Allen of Dingleberry Road assaulted a convenience store employee on the afternoon of January 23rd. The employee claims Allen appeared intoxicated and called his female co-worker “fat”. Allen allegedly struck the male clerk in the face when he was told to leave.

Police found Allen outside the store after reviewing video of the incident. They say he refused to give his date of birth as he was being taken to jail. Allen then allegedly began banging his head on the squad car’s partition, and police say he eventually threatened to kill the officer. He also reportedly made comments about having a lot of money and knowing several politicians. Once at the Monroe County Detention Center, it allegedly took several guards to get Allen out of the car. He was eventually tasered and placed into a restraint chair. Allen is charged with a felony count of Threatening a Public Servant, one misdemeanor count of Battery and two misdemeanor counts of Obstructing an Officer.

Allen has a February 26th case management conference on two Johnson County Assault Causing Bodily Injury charges after University of Iowa Police say he assaulted two other fans at the November 11th Iowa/Rutgers football game at Kinnick Stadium.
