Iowa City man accused of involving juvenile in purchase using stolen credit card

An Iowa City man is accused of involving a juvenile in the purchase of items from a Coral Ridge Mall store using a stolen credit card.

The incident occurred back in the fall of 2022.  22-year old Kiwan Bolar reportedly was driven to Scheels the evening of September 16th and went inside with the juvenile. Bolar allegedly picked out a pair of Nike shorts and a Nike sweatshirt, then handed them to the juvenile. The juvenile then reportedly paid for the items with a stolen debit card.

That October 10th, police executed a search warrant at Bolar’s residence and found he stolen items and the stolen card.  They also reporetedly found marijuana roaches, marijuana wrappers, and drug paraphernalia. Bolar allegedly admitted to smoking marijuana daily.

He was booked at the Johnson County Jail Thursday night and charged with Unauthorized Use of a Credit Card and a Controlled Substance violation. If convicted on both counts, Bolar could be sentenced to up to three years in jail.
