The City of Iowa City reports receiving numerous reports of trees downed by this week’s snowstorm.

The city’s Parks and Forestry staff advise that residents should report any downed trees impacting streets via the ICGovXpress online report service. Residents can report the downed tree by following these steps:

  • Select ‘Parks Forestry’
  • Select ‘Storm-Damaged Trees’
  • Give the address of the downed tree, and
  • Supply a photo if possible

The downed trees will be taken care of when it is safe for city staff to do so. Any downed trees impacting electrical lines should be reported to MidAmerican at 800-799-4443.

Downed trees on private property that do not impact streets or sidewalks are the responsibility of the property’s owner.
