University of Iowa Police say a western Iowa woman stole a car and caused two traffic accidents.

According to arrest records, 24-year-old Alexis Corrin of Early, Iowa entered a Toyota Rav4 parked on or near Melrose Avenue sometime before 11:45 Monday morning. She then reportedly caused two accidents that she did not report. One involved her striking another, unoccupied vehicle on or near Byington Road and another in which she allegedly destroyed a traffic barricade.

UI Police say Corrin was in possession of a key to the Rav4 when she was taken into custody. She was booked into the Johnson County Jail just before 1:30 Monday afternoon.

Corrin is charged with Operating a Vehicle Without Owner’s Consent, 3rd Degree Burglary of a Motor Vehicle and Leaving the Scene of an Accident. If convicted on all charges, she faces a maximum of four years in jail.
