A California man was charged with OWI early Friday after reportedly driving his semi while intoxicated.

Authorities allegedly observed 31-year-old David Kendall of Lawndale California driving erratically after he was called in as being all over the road while driving his semi near the 239 mile marker on eastbound Interstate 80.  According to the arrest report, Kendall was driving under 40 mph on the interstate and driving over the dotted lines for more than a quarter mile. He also reportedly drove over 1 mile with multiple deputies behind him with lights and sirens going.

Upon contact, authorities said Kendall had a glossed over thousand mile stare look, a strong odor of ingested alcohol, and open containers of alcohol in the cup holders. He reportedly stumbled getting out of the truck and nearly fell over several times.

After an initial evaluation, Kendall refused all field and chemical testing.

He was charged with first offense OWI, a serious misdemeanor.
