The combination of the University of Iowa football team’s woeful offense and ten-win season has given it a dubious distinction for the second year in a row..but it also opens up a fundraising opportunity for a local charity.
The Hawkeyes have won the “Sickos Committee National Championship ” for the second consecutive year…the only two years the poll has existed.
The Sickos Committee X account claims to be run by people who, in the company’s words, “just love College Football and love to watch all the games regardless of who is playing. The crazier or more unconventionally appealing a game is, the more we want to watch it.”
The Hawkeyes won the “Sickos National Championship” in polling earlier this month. As part of the victory, the Sickos Committee committed to raising funds in the home city of the winning school. Sickos Committee voters once again chose the CommUnity Crisis Center food bank as its charity for Iowa City.
