Pro-Palestine protestors disrupted a fundraiser at Kinnick Stadium Saturday afternoon, with multiple arrests being made.

University of Iowa Police say the demonstrators chained themselves to the entrance doors at Gates D and E, yelled at those entering the building for the fundraiser, and used U-bolts to lock exit doors. Damage is estimated at between $200 and $300. Police say the protestors also resisted arrest. Video posted to X shows protestors complaining of pain and unnecessary force as they are being taken into custody. Posts on X also indicate the group was protesting the university’s financial ties to Israel.

Among those arrested were 19-year-old Anthony Allou of Coralville, 22-year-old Miriam Daoup of Cedar Rapids, 22-year-old Ella Doolittle of Council Bluffs, 22-year-old Jared Kula of North Liberty, 23-year-old Brian Nilles of Ashton, Iowa, and 27-year-old Arielle Andalon, 26-year-old Clara Reynen, 24-year-old Cassidy Slater-Scott, and 26-year-old Gabriel Sperry…all of Iowa City.  All nine are charged with Trespassing Causing Damage, Interference with Official Acts and Disorderly Conduct. If convicted on all charges, they each face a maximum of 14 months in jail. All nine have since been released from the Johnson County Jail.
