An Iowa City man was arrested after allegedly assaulting his roommate with no provocation.
According to police, 37-year-old Drew Nunemaker of Catskill Court and the roommate were drinking at their residence late Tuesday night. Nunemaker, without warning or provocation, reportedly attacked his roommate, choking him and hitting him in the face. The victim called out to another roommate to call the police on his behalf.
The man sustained heavy swelling around one of his eyes and a laceration on his lip.
Nunemaker was taken into custody early Saturday and charged with Assault Causing Bodily Injury, a serious misdemeanor punishable by a jail term of up to one year if convicted.
