Two men have been arrested after allegedly installing a scanning device and a camera on a North Liberty credit union ATM.

According to the criminal complaint, a skimming device was attached to the card reader of an ATM at Collins Community Credit Union at approximately 6am Wednesday.  A camera used to record video was also installed above the keypad.  Two men, later identified as 37-year-old Nino Dangelo and 38-year-old  Alesksei Savinov, left in a 2020 Hyundai with California plates.

On Thursday shortly before 8pm, a North Liberty police officer observed the vehicle in the area of the credit union and initiated a traffic stop.  The two were identified as the same individuals who were involved in installing the skimming device.

Dangelo and Savinov were each charged with Illegal Use of Scanning Device, a Class D Felony punishable by a prison sentence of up to five years.
