A Minnesota man faces charges that he stole a semi from Big Ten Towing.

49-year-old Garrick Sneed of Chatfield, Minnesota was booked into the Johnson County Jail just before 6:00 Tuesday night. The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office says Sneed and an accomplice can be seen on security video scoping out the Big Ten Towing property on Highway 1 West on the night of August 14th, then just after 9:45 that night returning and stealing a Mack semi and flatbed trailer.

The truck and trailer were later recovered from a farm in Steele County, Minnesota. Investigators say the Big Ten Towing logos and state-issued DOT numbers had been spray-painted over to disguise the identity of the truck.

The value of the stolen truck and trailer is estimated at over $120,000.

Sneed is charged with 1st Degree Theft, a Class C Felony punishable by a maximum of ten years in prison. Johnson County Jail records show Sneed is also wanted for charges in Van Buren County.
