Regina High School Head Football Coach, Jason Dumont has announced his retirement following the 2023 season. Coach Dumont has served as head coach for the Regals over the past 3 years, and the previous 14 years as defensive coordinator and associate head coach.

During Coach Dumont’s tenure as defensive coordinator, Regina football has achieved numerous successes, including 11 state championship appearances, winning 7, including 6 in a row from 2010-2015, and a state record 56 game winning streak from 2010 to 2013. As head coach, Dumont amassed a record of 23-7, qualifying for the IHSAA state playoffs each year.

In a release from the school, they expressed gratitude for Coach Dumont’s contributions and leadership over the years. Their statement said, “His ability to instill discipline, hard work, and a competitive spirit in his players has not only led to victories on the field but has also prepared his student-athletes for success in life after sports.”

Coach Dumont shared, “For the last 37 years of my life I have either been playing or coaching the game I love, the 17 years coaching at Regina has been the best part of my football journey. It is time for me to step away from the game I love and spend more time enjoying other aspects of my life….the most rewarding part of being a coach at Regina was not the success we had, it was seeing young boys become young men and watching the success they had in life after football. If the standard is Leave it better than you found it, we did that and then some. Once a Regal, Always a Regal.”
