CRPD Arrests One on Charges of Enticing a Minor

Cedar Rapids police have arrested a Cincinnati man for reportedly trying to entice a teenage girl for sex.

According to a release from the Department, they were contacted Wednesday night by a group called Bikers Against Predators, who report they are a non-profit organization taking action against online child predators.  The organization reported an encounter with an adult male at the Residence Inn on 33rd Avenue SW.

The man was attempting to meet and engage in illegal sexual activity with one of their members, who was posing as a 13-year-old female on a messaging app.  Officers met with members of Bikers Against Predators and the man, identified as 27-year-old Walter Conkright of Cincinnati, Ohio.

As a result of the investigation, Conkright was charged with Enticing a Minor- Under Age 16, and was transported to the Linn County Correctional Center. He faces up to five years in prison if convicted.
