An Iowa City man was arrested Sunday afternoon after an alleged assault against the woman he’s been living with for a year.

The incident occurred at 501 Southgate just before 5:15pm. 41-year-old Quinn Brown reportedly picked his partner up off the ground and ripped the clothing off of her during an argument. He allegedly assaulted her several times, and officers noted injuries to the woman’s neck and chest area.

During his arrest, Brown reportedly had less than a gram of marijuana in his pocket.

He’s been charged with second offense domestic assault and marijuana possession. If convicted on both counts, Brown could be sentenced to up to three years in jail.

A no contact order was issued by judge Jason Burns on Monday.
