The Iowa Heartlanders hockey team opens their third season at Xtream Arena tonight against the Rapid City Rush.
The game, originally scheduled for Saturday, was moved to tonight due to many of the service personnel responsible for running game day operations committed to work at Kinnick Stadium for Saturday afternoon’s football game vs Minnesota.
Tickets purchased for the original Saturday date will be honored at tonight’s game.
On Friday, the Heartlanders will partner with the Domestic Violence Intervention Program. $8 from each ticket purchased for Friday’s game will benefit DVIP. Click on the logo to purchase tickets so that part of your ticket cost goes to DVIP.
DVIP will also have donation bins available for linen items when you enter Xtream Arena on Friday. DVIP is in URGENT NEED of towels, bath towels, washcloths, face towels, twin sized bed sheets, and twin sized bedsets.
The Iowa Heartlanders are ECHL affiliates of the Minnesota Wild and Iowa Wild.
Both tonight and tomorrow night’s games start at 6:35.
