An Iowa City woman was arrested over the weekend when she confronted a man playing video games and destroyed the console.

Police say 23-year-old Yeimi Fernandez Martinez of Taft Avenue Southeast walked unwelcomed into the Scott Boulevard residence of the victim Sunday just after 3am Sunday.  She reportedly got into a verbal altercation with the man and spiked his PlayStation 5 into the ground, breaking it into pieces. She then allegedly hit the man.

The value of the video game console was reported to be around $500.

Officers found Fernandez Martinez outside the residence, where she allegedly was observed with bloodshot watery eyes, slurred speech, and the odor of ingested alcohol.

Fernandez Martinez was taken into custody. She faces charges of Domestic Assault, 4th degree Criminal Mischief, Trespass, and Public Intoxication. If convicted on all counts, she could be sentenced to up to 14 months in jail.
