A Cedar Rapids man was taken into custody over the weekend for an alleged forgery that occurred last October.

Police say 23-year-old James Dunn went to the Hills Bank location on South Gilbert Street at around 5pm October 21st and presented a check from All-American Gutter Solutions made out to him for over $3400. It was later learned that the check had been stolen from the business, and that Dunn neither worked for All-American Gutter or was owed any money by them.

A warrant was issued for Dunn’s arrest on February 23rd; he was located and arrested Saturday afternoon.  He faces a Forgery charge, punishable by a prison term of up to five years if convicted.
