An Iowa City man was taken into custody Monday afternoon after interfering with officers talking with another individual who had an active arrest warrant.
The incident took place near the intersection of Clinton and Washington streets. Officers were speaking to an individual about a warrant when 33-year-old Sean Christopher of Catskill Court allegedly interjected himself into the conversation and started to yell at officers. He then reportedly got closer to the officers while grabbing a knife that was on his belt line. That caused officers to take Christopher to the ground. He allegedly tensed up when being taken into custody.
Christopher was charged with Interference with Official Acts, a simple misdemeanor. He pleaded guilty on Tuesday and was fined $250.
