UI Police investigating a pair of burglaries

University of Iowa Police are investigating a pair of burglaries.

The first incident involves a report of a potential burglary that occurred sometime between the afternoon hours on Friday, Sept. 8th and the afternoon hours on Monday, Sept. 11th at the Biology Building on North Dubuque Street. The reporting party shared that lighting equipment was taken from the building. There were no signs of forced entry, and the incident remains under investigation.

UI Police are also investigating a report of a potential burglary that occurred in a west side residence hall. The reporting party shared that a variety of food, clothing hangers, and other items have gone missing over the last three weeks (between Aug. 26th and Sept. 16th). There were no signs of forced entry, and that incident remains under investigation.

UI Police strongly encourage all residence hall occupants and those in the campus community to lock their doors at all times, even if they are only leaving their rooms for a short time. Residents are also encouraged to report suspicious activity immediately by calling 9-1-1.
