Iowa City Police say a man slashed all four tires of a vehicle that belongs to a subject who wouldn’t give him money.

The incident reportedly took place just after 8:45 a.m. on August 20th on the 2100 block of Broadway Street. According to arrest records, 41-year-old David Brown of Sherman Drive had been knocking on the man’s door trying to get money. The alleged victim refused to answer. The man claims once the knocking stopped, he looked outside and saw Brown crouching down next to the driver’s side of his vehicle for a few seconds before running away.

When the man went outside the check on his car, he says he noticed holes punched in all four tires, with the air still hissing out.

Brown is charged with 4th Degree Criminal Mischief. If convicted on all charges, he faces a maximum of one year in jail.
