A Chicago-area man was less-than-conspicuous when Iowa City Police say they saw him drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana on top of a parked car outside one of downtown’s most popular longtime bars.
According to arrest reports, officers observed 32-year-old Antwan Davis of Dolton, Illinois sitting on top of a car parked in front of The Sports Column on South Dubuque Street at 10:15 Saturday night. Police say he was openly drinking a beer and smoking a marijuana blunt.
A search incident to Davis’ arrest reportedly turned up a baggie of marijuana weighing five grams.
Davis is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of an Open Container of Alcohol in Public. If convicted he faces a maximum of one year in jail.
