A North Liberty woman is accused of driving through the city without pants while intoxicated late Thursday night.
North Liberty Police report seeing a 2018 Ford Expedition strike a curb at the Front Street/Centro Way roundabout between South Slope and Christine Grant Elementary School just after 11:30pm. The vehicle then continued southbound on Front Street while crossing over and straddling the fog line. The car pulled into a driveway on Whitman Avenue, where North Liberty Police made contact.
The driver reportedly showed signs of intoxication as she spoke to the officer while sitting in the driver’s seat. That’s when the officer noticed she wasn’t wearing pants or shoes.
Officers found the woman’s pants inside the vehicle. She put them on and exited the car. Police say she was unable to perform several sobriety tests due to disability, but she performed poorly on the ones she could conduct. The woman allegedly admitted to drinking, but refused breath and urine testing.
The 47-year-old is charged with Operating While Intoxicated.
