A Burlington man has been arrested in connection with a Louisa County sexual abuse case involving a 14-year-old.

The Louisa County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a sexual assault of a minor just before 4:15pm on July 26th.  During the course of the investigation, it was determined 21-year-old Austin Michael Fenton had been sexually involved with a 14-year-old girl.  On Thursday, Fenton met with Louisa County detectives at the Des Moines County Sheriff’s Office and confessed to having sexual encounters with the victim on more than one occasion.  Fenton admitted to knowing the victim was 14 years old.

Due to Fenton’s admissions of guilt, along with other evidence, Fenton was placed under arrest and booked into the Louisa County Jail on a charge of third degree sexual assault. If convicted, he faces a maximum of ten years in prison.

The Louisa County Sheriff’s Office says the investigation is on-going and further charges are possible.
