Convicted felon back in custody after absconding from Iowa County work release program

A convicted felon is back in custody ten days after absconding from an Iowa County work release program.

According to the Iowa Department of Corrections, law enforcement from the Minnesota Department of Corrections Fugitive Apprehension Unit has arrested Jermichael Jim Wells near Brooklyn Center, Minnesota. He is currently in the process of being returned to the custody of the Iowa Department of Corrections.

The 25-year-old Wells reportedly absconded from his worksite at Quantum Plastics in Victor on July 19th. He was sentenced to the Correctional Release Center in Newton after being convicted on charges of 2nd Degree Theft, 2nd Degree Burglary, 3rd Degree Burglary of a Motor Vehicle, Dominion or Control of Firearm/Offensive Weapon by Felon, and Forgery.
