A Coralville man was arrested earlier this week after allegedly threatening to kill the mother of their shared child.

According to police, 30-year-old Jean-Marie Ndaba of 22nd Avenue assaulted the woman Tuesday at 10:50 am and then left the scene.  The woman told officers that Ndaba told her he was going to kill her during the assault.

Police located Ndaba on the 1700 block of 8th street and reportedly observed him with bloodshot watery eyes, the odor of ingested alcohol, unsteady balance, and slurred speech.  He allegedly admitted to drinking.

Ndaba was taken into custody and charged with 1st degree Harassment, 2nd offense Domestic Abuse Assault, and Public Intoxication.  If convicted on all counts, he could be sentenced to over three years in jail.

A no-contact order was requested between the two parties.
