Iowa City Police have arrested a transient they say shattered a window at the Clock Tower Parking Ramp last week.
35-year-old Jonathan Mitchell was booked into the Johnson County Jail just before 10am Monday. Police say Mitchell smashed a double-paned display window at the Iowa Avenue ramp just before 4:30 last Wednesday afternoon. Witnesses say Mitchell had been striking buildings and cars leading up to shattering the window. Damage is estimated at $2,500.
Mitchell is charged with 2nd Degree Criminal Mischief, a Class D Felony punishable by a maximum of five years in prison.
