The driver of a semi was killed when their vehicle rolled over Sunday evening on Interstate 80 in Cedar County.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, the 2023 Cascadia was eastbound near the West Liberty exit just before 5:30pm when it left the roadway for an unknown reason. The driver overcorrected, leading to the semi rolling over.
The lone occupant was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. The person died at the scene.
The driver’s name is being held pending notification of family. The incident remains under investigation.
