An exploding jet ski has led to an injury along the Cedar River.

That’s according to the Cedar Rapids Fire Department, which was conducting water rescue training with the Linn County Sheriff’s Office at the Mohawk Park ramp on J Avenue NE just after 10:45 Friday morning when the incident occurred. A fire engine and a fire department boat descended on a dock on the 2500 block of Ellis Road NW, where a parked jet ski had exploded.  The operator was injured and transported to St. Luke’s hospital. Their condition has not been released.

The incident remains under investigation.
