A Cedar Rapids man was taken into custody last week after allegedly being found standing in Iowa City backyards, peering into windows.

Just after 7pm on July 13th, 37-year-old Kofi Adu Sarkodie was called in committing the offense in the 900 block of Dover Street.  Once confronted, he allegedly gave a false name and date of birth and was located again later at the same location.  Adu Sarkodie ran on foot from officers before being located.

Officers determined the man’s true identity and learned that he had a warrant out of Linn County.

Adu Sarkodie was charged with Providing False ID Information and Interference with Official Acts. If convicted on both counts, he could have been sentenced to up to sixty days in jail. Instead, Judge Jason Burns fined Adu Sarkodie a total of $355 on July 14th.
