A Washington County man is accused of breaking a window at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics by throwing a table into it.
UI Police were called to the UIHC Emergency Department just before 10:00 Thursday night for a subject who threw a table into a window in the lobby area. The suspect, 48-year-old Joshua Goldizen of Washington, reportedly told investigators he was feeling confused and agitated when he fell to the floor of the emergency department. Police say he admitted to picking up a table when he stood up and throwing it against a window, causing an estimated $1,500 in damage.
The incident was observed by witnesses and was caught on security video.
Goldizen is charged with 2nd Degree Criminal Mischief. If convicted, he faces a maximum of five years in prison.
