A Cedar County man is accused of stealing women’s panties from the laundry room of an Iowa City apartment building.
Iowa City Police say 37-year-old Juan Vega of Clarence was caught in the act as he was stealing about $100 worth of women’s panties from the laundry room of 36 Valley Avenue around 11:30 last Friday morning. A resident reports seeing Vega leaving the complex with a large bulge in his pants. The woman confronted Vega, who police say admitted to taking the panties and offered to give them back.
The woman says she followed Vega back to his place of employment and waited for police to arrive.
Vega is charged with 5th Degree Theft. If convicted, he faces a maximum of 30 days in jail.
