An Iowa City man is accused of breaking into a North Liberty residence, then threatening to shoot a man inside.

North Liberty Police say 21-year-old Latrell Sasseen of Cayman Street entered the Vandello Circle home of his ex-girlfriend just before 1:45 Saturday morning by climbing through a broken window.  The alleged victim told police he awoke to find Sasseen pointing a gun at his face and demanding he leave. Sasseen then reportedly escorted the man throughout the residence while threatening to shoot him. The man then fled the scene, leaving his phone behind.  Sasseen is accused of then throwing the phone across the street, destroying it.

The gun was later determined to be a CO2 pistol, but the alleged victim told police he believed it was real. The ex-girlfriend told investigators that Sasseen had no permission to enter her home.

Sasseen was booked into the Johnson County Jail just after 5am Saturday and charged with 2nd Degree Burglary, 1st Degree Harassment, Assault While Participating in a Felony, and 3rd Degree Criminal Mischief. If convicted on all charges, he faces a maximum of 19 years in prison.
