Iowa City Police have arrested a Tiffin man they say assaulted another driver in a fast food drive-thru lane.
Arrest records indicate 19-year-old Antoine Williams of Doe Avenue walked up to another vehicle in the Riverside Drive McDonald’s drive-thru lane just before 2:15am on May 13th. Williams and the other driver engaged in a verbal altercation before Williams allegedly reached through the window and punched the other subject multiple times, as well as punching the man’s windshield, shattering it. Williams then reportedly ran after the man after he left his car and fled on foot. Williams then returned to his 2012 Ford F150…which was still parked in the drive-thru lane…then drove over a rock barrier in what police describe as “a reckless manner” while he fled the scene.
The other driver was treated by a doctor for his injuries. The entire incident was caught on surveillance video, which captured Williams’ license plate number.
Williams was booked into the Johnson County Jail just after 4pm Thursday and charged with 1st Degree Burglary, 4th Degree Criminal Mischief and Reckless Driving. If convicted on all charges, he faces a maximum of 26 years in prison.
