Three teenagers now under arrest for murder of Cedar Rapids juvenile

Cedar Rapids Police have made an additional arrest as the investigation into the February killing of 16-year-old Michael McCune continues.

According to a release from the Department, investigators Friday arrested 15-year-old Baynon Berry of Marion, on the charge of Murder in the 1st Degree. He was also wanted on outstanding warrants for Conspiracy to Commit a Forcible Felony, Going Armed with Intent, and a Probation Violation.

On March 23rd, 15-year-old Dante Irvin and 16-year-old Tramontz Lockett were arrested in connection with the murder. Both were each charged with 1st degree Murder, Going Armed with Intent, and Conspiracy to Commit a Forcible Felony.  Lockett was additionally charged with Aiding and Abetting Theft 1st degree.

McCune was found in the 1600 block of F Avenue Northwest in the late morning of February 18th , suffering from gunshot wounds.  He was pronounced deceased at the scene, and investigators believed it to be a targeted incident.

The juveniles were named due to confidentiality laws that allow for the public release of juveniles charged with a forcible felony.

Because the investigation continues, no further information is being released at this time.
