Iowa City Police have arrested a woman they say sold cocaine to at least one juvenile.
18-year-old Shantoria Cooper was booked into the Johnson County Jail just before 5:45 Friday afternoon. A search warrant was executed on Cooper’s North Dodge Street apartment just before 6:45pm on April 4th. Iowa City Police say they found 113 grams of marijuana in clear plastic baggies, several items of drug paraphernalia, packaging materials, and a Citadel Boss 25 shotgun with ammunition. The drugs and paraphernalia were reportedly in plain view.
Cooper allegedly admitted to using drugs, and police say juveniles could be seen leaving her residence. A check of her phone showed messages investigators say indicated she was selling drugs, including selling cocaine to at least one juvenile.
Cooper is charged with a Controlled Substance Violation, Failure to Affix a Drug Tax Stamp, Keeping Premises for the Use of Controlled Substances, Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. If convicted on all charges, she faces a maximum of over 12 years in prison.
