A Cedar Rapids woman wanted for thefts last year in Coralville was taken into custody Wednesday.
Police reports indicate 47-year-old Shannon Butterbaugh entered Best Buy last April 19th along with two other ladies. They each picked up at least one electronic device and left the store without paying for it. Butterbaugh reportedly grabbed an HP laptop valued at $1160, and the ladies left in the same vehicle.
On April 28th, Butterbaugh is accused of taking a windbreaker from Scheels in the Coral Ridge Mall and concealing it in her purse as she left the premises.
Finally on May 7th, Butterbaugh allegedly stole a wallet out of a shopping cart at Kohl’s when the victim wasn’t looking. The victim estimated the value of the wallet and its contents was $690.00.
A warrant for Butterbaugh’s arrest was issued May 24th; she was arrested and booked at the Johnson County Jail Tuesday afternoon. She faces three counts of 3rd degree Theft and could be sentenced to up to six years in prison if convicted on all charges.
