The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Quad Cities man they say led deputies on a chase along Interstate 80 Friday afternoon.
According to arrest records, 20-year-old Antonio Metcalf of Bettendorf was recorded speeding westbound at 103 miles per hour on I-80 near the Dodge Street exit just after 2:30pm. A traffic stop was attempted, but Metcalf reportedly refused to yield to marked patrol cars with their lights and sirens activated. He reportedly reached speeds up to 148 miles per hour in his 2015 Dodge Challenger.
Metcalf left I-80 at the Tiffin exit, eventually ditching the vehicle on 360th Street north of Cosgrove. He was located attempting to hide on a nearby property.
Metcalf is charged with Aggravated Eluding, Trespassing, and numerous traffic violations. if convicted on all charges, he faces a maximum of two years in jail.
