University of Iowa Police are investigating a reported residence hall burglary.

The reporting party shared with UI Police that an item either went missing or was stolen from their west side residence hall room between April 7 and April 9 when they were out of town. There were no signs of forced entry.

Anyone with any additional information about the burglary is urged contact UI Police at (319) 335-5022, or submit a crime tip via text message by using the Rave Guardian app. A link to that app can be found under this story at 1630KCJJ.com and on the KCJJ app.

UI Police strongly encourage all residence hall occupants and those in the campus community to always lock their doors, even if they are only leaving their rooms for a short time. Residents are also encouraged to report suspicious activity immediately by calling 9-1-1. UI Police say security of rooms in residence halls is a joint effort between their agency as well as residents, roommates, and staff.
