ICPD: “Grossly intoxicated” Cedar Rapids man arrested for OWI with rifle in his front seat

Iowa City Police have arrested a Cedar Rapids man they say they found passed out in his running car with a rifle in the front seat.

According to arrest records, officers found 33-year-old Lamar Wall of Moose Drive NW passed out behind the wheel of his running vehicle parked on the 500 block of East College Street just after 2:45 Sunday morning. He was described as “grossly intoxicated”.

Wall reportedly admitted to drinking to the point of vomiting and said he would test “over the limit”. His breath alcohol level was measured at .199%. Wall also allegedly admitted to ownership of a Smith & Wesson M&P rifle that was sitting in the front passenger area.

Wall is charged with Operating While Intoxicated, Possession or Carrying Weapons While Intoxicated, and Person Ineligible to Carry Weapons. If convicted on all charges, he faces a maximum of three years in jail.
