A Sunday fundraiser for the Summer of the Arts will double as a celebration of 40 years of the Iowa Arts Festival.

The matinee show at the Englert Theater will feature The Beaker Brothers, The Dandelion Stompers, The Recliners, The Savage Hearts, Winterland, and Dave Zollo & the Body Electric.

Audiences will be treated to sets from each of the acts, as well as pictures and video of epic Iowa Arts Festival performances, and perhaps a few surprises. There will also be a silent auction where you can win items that include iconic musical memorabilia, art objects, and signed posters commemorating the rich history of free live music in downtown Iowa City.

Proceeds will benefit Summer of the Arts, the nonprofit organization that stages the Iowa Arts Festival, The Iowa City Jazz Festival, the Friday Night Concert Series, and similar free events. The group recently suffered a major funding hit when the University of Iowa declined to make its usual annual donation.

Tickets for Sunday’s fundraiser are available through englert.org. Doors open at 2:00.
