An Iowa City drug bust reportedly turned up crack, marijuana, and a stolen firearm.

Iowa City Police executed a search warrant on the Pepperwood Lane apartment of 38-year-old Gary Jones just before 7pm Wednesday. The search reportedly turned up more than seven grams of crack cocaine in a coat pocket, several individually packaged amounts of marijuana, a large amount of cash, and a handgun that had been reported stolen. An individual who was present during the raid reportedly claimed he and Jones were smoking marijuana at the residence the previous night.

Jones has a felony conviction on drug charges from 2011, making him ineligible to possess a firearm. He’s now charged with two Controlled Substance Violations, two counts of Failure to Affix a Drug Tax Stamp, and one count each of Gathering for the Use of Drugs, Keeping Premises for the Use of Drugs, and Possession of a Firearm as a Felon. If convicted on all charges, he faces a maximum of 33 years in prison.
