A Cedar Rapids man accused of fatally shooting his girlfriend and another man has pleaded to lesser charges.

The Gazette reports 33-year-old Timothy Rush was originally charged with two counts of second degree murder in the Taboo Nightclub shootings last year. On Wednesday, he pleaded in writing to two counts of involuntary manslaughter, five counts of reckless use of a firearm causing bodily injury, intimidation with a dangerous weapon and possession of a firearm by a felon.

Rush could have faced up to 100 years in prison if convicted on the original charges. The agreement says three charges will run concurrently to the other charges and all other charges will run consecutively for a total of 30 years. In addition, federal charges will not be brought, and other counts will be dismissed at a yet to be determined sentencing date.

The other man involved in the shootings, 29-year-old Dimione Walker, was convicted of first degree murder for the fatal shooting of Michael Valentine. He’s in prison for life without the possibility of parole.
